A Volte Penso...

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che guarì i malati,gli storpi
e diede la vista ai cecati?

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che raccontò buone novelle
ai brutti e ai belli?

A volte penso...

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che trasformò acqua in vino
e con pochi pani e pesci
sfamò tutti i vicini?

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che versò sangue sulla croce
e il terzo giorno resuscitò
dopo una morte atroce?

A volte penso...

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che promise a tutti noi
la certezza e se ne andò 

per primo ad aprire 

la porta della salvezza?

Fu Dio o fu un uomo
che lasciò le orme 

sulla sabbia
liberandoci dal peso 

delle nostre pene e

la nostra sofferenza

prendendo su di sé

tanta afflizione?

A volte penso...

Perchè Dio o un uomo 

dovrebbe sacrificare 

la sua vita per noi?
Lo fece per gloria e onore
o solamente per amore?

A volte penso...

At times I wonder...

Was it God or a was it man

who healed the sick, 

the lame and the blind?

Was it God or was it man

who spoke of good tidings

to both ugly and lovelies?

At times I wonder...

Was it God or was it man

who turned water into wine

and with a few loaves 

and some fish fed all 

his followers in bliss ?

Was it God or was it man

who shed blood on the cross

and the third day rose again

after a painful lonely fate?

At times I wonder ...

Was it God or was it man

who promised us all certainty 

and flew off to open the door 

of recovery?

Was it God or was it man who 

left his footprints in the sand

freeing us from pain and suffering 

taking on himself so much affliction?

At times I wonder…

Why should God or man

sacrifice his whole life for us?

Was it for glory and praise

or was it just love acclaim?

At times I wonder...
