Caino e Abele

L’amore non chiede il perché. 

Il sentimento c’è o non c’è.

Vedete, Caino si affannava per piacere a Dio, costui gli voleva bene ma non quanto ne volesse ad Abele, che non faceva niente fuori dal normale e non gareggiava con suo fratello. Lui pascolava le pecore, si prendeva cura degli alberi con frutti meravigliosi, l’orto con verdure di tutti i generi. 

Abele era sicuro dell’amore che Dio nutriva per lui, Caino invece dubitava e cercava di conquistare il suo affetto donandogli tanti beni materiali e sacrificando agnelli. Così, un giorno, decise di ammazzare suo fratello e in questo modo avrebbe avuto per sé tutto l’amore di Dio.

Che dire? Non fu questa la soluzione. Dio fu così mortificato che non solo non ammazzò Caino ma ordinò a tutti quelli che lo avrebbero incontrato di non toccarlo. 

Perché fece questo? Dio voleva che Caino si pentisse del suo atto e imparasse ad amare nella maniera giusta. Possiamo chiamarla conversione. Il tempo ci aiuta a capire. Mi dispiace per Abele.

Cain and Abel

Love doesn’t ask why. 

The feeling is or is not there.

You see, Cain struggled to please God, who loved him but not as much as he did Abel, who did nothing out of the ordinary and did not compete with his brother. He grazed the sheep, took care of the trees with wonderful fruits, a garden with vegetables of all kinds.

Abel was sure of the love that God had for him, Cain, instead, doubted and tried to win God’s affection by offering him so many material things and sacrificing lambs. So, one day, he decided to kill his brother, this way he’d have all the love of God for himself.

What to say? This was not the solution. God was so mortified that not only did he not kill Cain but he ordered all those who would meet him not to touch him.

Why did he do that? God wanted Cain to repent of his act and learn to love in the right way. We can call it conversion. Time helps us to understand. I'm sorry for Abel.
