I nostri nonni lo sapevano bene e lo usavano per fare tutte quelle cose dove non arrivavano con le mani. 

Ecco alcune cose:

1 raccattare da sotto un tavolo

2 scacciare via fastidi

3 fare lo sgambetto

4 attirare attenzione

5 indicare

6 minacciare

7 sculacciare

8 afferrare per il collo un monello

9 prendere le cose in alto 

10 sistemare l'altra parte del letto

11 pulire qualcosa da una superficie

12 schiacciare le noci 

13 chiudere la porta

14 appoggiarsi sopra per una pennichella

15 infine anche per fare una passeggiata!

Our grandparents knew it well and used it to do all those things when they couldn't reach with their hands.

Here are some things:

1 drag things from under a table

2 get rid of pests

3 trip someone over

4 attract attention

5 point

6 threaten

7 spank

8 grab a brat by the neck

9 get things from high up 

10 adjust the other side of the bed

11 clean something from a surface

12 crack nuts

13 close the door

14 lean on it for a little nap

15 and lastly even for a walk!
